Michal Mualem
Michal Mualem (Isr) practiced for 9 years professional gymnastics. She accomplished her dance education in Israel, studying ballet, contemporary, choreographic composition, improvisation contact and Feldenkrais.
From 1994 to 2001 Michal danced in Israel with companies such as “Liat Dror and Nir Ben Gal dance company” and “Noa Dar dance group”, and collaborated with Inbal Pinto and Niv Sheinfeld. In 2007 she presented “Brown Sugar”, her first work as a young choreographer, at the Suzanne Dellal Center in Tel Aviv.
Michal has been collaborating with the Sasha Waltz company since 2001 and has danced in her creations of “Korper”, “Nobody”, “InsideOut”, “Impromptus”, “Dido and Aeneas” and “Dialoge 09”.
During these years she has also studied and collaborated with other choreographers such as David Zambrano, Meg Stuart, Benoit Lachambre, Ted Stoffer, Kristie Simpson, Jeremy Nelson. In 2008 Michal collaborated with Roberto Zappalà on a solo piece - “Instrument 2”.
In 2004 Michal and Giannalberto de Filippis began collaborating together. Combining their different experiences and movement languages they first started teaching together, holding workshops in Europe and Israel. Since 2005 they have choreographed together.
