Mercedes Del Rosario Appugliese
Mercedes del Rosario Appugliese was born in 1979 in Mendoza, Argentina. There, she studied classical dance and was a member of the ballet company of the National University of Cuyo for five years.
Thanks to a grant from the Julio Bocca Foundation and the Antorcha Foundation she traveled to Buenos Aires to further her training in classical and contemporary dance as well as to study Tango.
Mercedes has worked as a dancer with the company Tangokinesis (Buenos Aires - Argentina), the dance theater "El Arbol" (Mendoza - Argentina) and the company Toula Limnaios (Berlin)
Since 2011 she has been working as a freelance dancer and dance teacher in contemporary dance at the Free University Berlin and at the Technical University Berlin.
She worked as a guest dancer in the production "milk & bread / rice & water" by the Berlin-based company Rubato and starred in Clébio Oliveira´s piece "Milchstrasse".
Mercedes presented her own choreographic work "Brehms Frauenleben" at the 100Grad Festival in Berlin in 2011.
Mercedes lives in Berlin.
