Camille Mutel

Dancer and choreographer, Camille (F)  trained in contemporary dance with H. Diasnas and in Butoh with M. Iwana.

In 2003, in Nancy, she created the Company Li(luo) where she develops a choreographic reflexion about the body and its unconscious mind. Her researches seek to express what Butoh calls “the darkness” of the body – what inside the body cannot be caught by words nor by thoughts. It is the sensation that is searched for, the unnameable reality of a poetic act; simple and raw, the interior landscape relating to the content of silence. The themes are many variations of primordial instincts and impulses of desire and death. The dance is worked in solo, but artists from other fields are regularly associated. The aim is to undermine and to question the organic universe of dance by giving alternative visions and elements of language to create a heterogeneous work.
