Nitzsche & Hummel
Nitzsche & Hummel are Sabine Bremer (violin, mandolin, vocals and effects) and Arne Nitzsche (bass, beats, vocals, effects).
They are a loving couple in times of analog and digital. They play the soundtrack of their own story and talk about life between club culture and house music, between beach party and classical concert. Warm string phrases and rolling bass lines meet electronic beats and represent the ground for a composition that oscillates between instrumental and Indie pop. Live on stage they link bass and violin to the electronic circuit and to micro chips, letting the acoustic colour appear all the time in new garments. Using the possibility of playing the audio samples in endless loops, they create new sound modulations and improvisations. The beat goes on and they just follow. Pushed forward, restless and fascinated by the symbiosis of past and present they build bridges to new coasts and between electronic/acid, jazz/urban and contemporary classic.
