Giacomo Della Marina
Giacomo Della Marina (IT/NL) is a performer, dancer and maker who lives and works mainly in The Netherlands.
From 2008 to 2010, Giacomo danced for the Dutch Dance Company De Stilte in Breda (The Netherlands) touring all over Europe. From June 2010 he works as a freelance dancer for productions sponsored by the main Dutch cities; among others Dansateliers, Theater L/V, Korzo theatre. During his career he has performed in choreographies by Di Napoli, Forsythe, Duato, Gallagher, Timmermans, Maiorino, Schumacher, Stuart, Van der Put, Strela, Lunn. In 2012 he started his collaboration with De Nederlandse Opera in Amsterdam.
Giacomo enjoys also teaching and his classes are based on the idea of pushing the air and the surface in order to move smoothly and to create a flowing sequence. How pushing an ideal surface that surrounds us can affect and change the movement.During the past years he has been teaching in Italy, Netherlands and Poland (Laboratio Internazionale Della Comunicazione, The International ContemporaryDance Summer School Koszęcin).
Giacomo holds a master degree in English and French litterature from University of Padua and a bachelor degree in Dance from Codarts, Rotterdam Dance Academy.
