Caroline Finn
Born in England, Caroline Finn attended the Arts Educational School, Tring and then the Juilliard School New York where she attained her BFA in Dance in 2004. She went on to dance for Ballett Theater Munich under the direction of Philip Taylor; Ballet Preljocaj and Compagnie Carolyn Carlson. A freelance dancer and choreographer since 2009, Caroline’s acclaimed solo work Bernadette has been performed in Aix en Provence, Munich, Luzern, Berlin, Paris and South Korea and she has created works for companies such as Cross Connection Ballet, Copenhagen, Compagnie DIEM France,Teatr Groteska,Krakow and Tanz Luzerner Theater, Switzerland.
In 2009 she was one of 6 internationally selected choreographers to take part in the renowned choreographic workshop, SIWIC, in Zurich. Caroline was awarded the 2010 Production Prize at the Copenhagen International Choreography Competition and in 2012, she reinterpreted John Cage’s ‘Sixteen Dances’ with live orchestra for the D.A.N.C.E festival in Munich. Between 2012 and 2014, Caroline was commissioned to create 3 full length works for Theater in Kempten, Germany - Paradise for Beginners, Flora in the Slaughterhouse and Killing your Darlings.
As a winner of the 2014 New Adventures Choreographer Award Caroline created Bloom for Phoenix Dance Theatre in 2015.
Most recently she was appointed Artistic Director of National Dance Company Wales and will be creating her first work for the company in January 2016.
Caroline is also a member of Tanztendenz München e.V.
