If you end up on this page you probably know by now how the clockworks of LUCKY TRIMMER function, how all the members of the LUCKY Team offer their time, knowledge and skills without any financial gratification but for the reward of promoting the arts and putting this awesome show together and how much we need people like you to keep on improving the LUCKY organization!

In the fall of 2003, LUCKY TRIMMER came to life at a time when opportunities for young Berlin-based artists to show short but complete works were sparse. The aim of the founders of the Tanz Performance Serie was to fulfill that need and to give a stage to those hungry souls.

We didn´t have any money but our founders were passionate, excited, enthusiastic and willing to give it a go. Today LUCKY TRIMMER has grown into a bi-annual event receiving applications from all over the world and presenting diverse, innovative and thrilling short pieces to about 1000 audience members a year.

20 people plodded in the first ever LUCKY TRIMMER show and as our founder, Clint Lutes put it: "we were certain that financial doom was upon us". Let´s not forget to mention: we were and, still are to this day, presenting this show without any public funding. We are LUCKY enough to be supported by some faithful sponsors that have been privately helping us over the years. BUT you do not need to have money to help us and you too could make a difference and contribute to our growing success!

The LUCKY Team has developed since 2003 and gathers an eclectic bunch of individuals with a wide set of skills: graphic designer, visual artists, doctors, dancers, choreographers, project manager or marketing and public relation consultant to name the few. Nevertheless as LUCKY TRIMMER keeps on blooming, we realize that other set of skills and expertise in fields that we do not currently master are required to keep the clock ticking.

What are the benefits of volunteering with us?

With busy lives, it can be hard to find time to volunteer. However, the benefits of volunteering are enormous to you and your community. The right match can help you find friends, reach out to the community, learn new skills, and even advance your career. Volunteering with us might be the perfect vehicle to discover something you are really good at, connect with the arts commmunity and give a little back.

Fundamentally, as volunteering is about giving your time, energy and skills freely, it will boost your sense of achievement and will make that little corner of the world where you live just that little bit better.

Moreover it can help you discover a hobby or interest you were unaware of. You can strengthen your personal/professional mission and vision by exploring opportunities and expanding your horizons. It can also be a brilliant way for you to get new life experiences. 

And most importantly, volunteering with us will lead to meet a diverse range of people from all backgrounds and walks of life and will offer an incredible networking opportunity. Not only will you develop lasting personal and professional relationships but it is also a great way to learn about people from all corner of the world, with wide and rich cultural backgrounds or from diverse performance fields.

Do you have some spare time and the will to support us?

You can volunteer and put your expertise in assisting LUCKY TRIMMER in a variety of administrative, fundraising or strategy development projects. Your help could be on an on-going basis or simply take the shape of a free workshop offered to the members of our team. The list below mentions some of the fields in which we currently need some assistance but the list is definitely non exhaustive. We would be delighted if you would get in touch with us with any other ideas and offers!
