LUCKY TRIMMER: A connecting place!

In addition to its mission of presenting talented artists, entertaining and challenging its audience, LUCKY TRIMMER is also a connecting hub where creative ideas are exchanged and future collaborations are born.

You might remember two of our LUCKIES # 15, Boglárka Börcsök & Yukihiro Taguchi? Both of their pieces presented at the VOLKSBÜHNE am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz in October 2010 were warmly received by our LUCKY audience.

Boglárka´s DISCOUNTS was a statement to disprove that dancers could only count to 8 and Yukihiro´s Moment-Performatives Spazieren set planks of wood in motion in a video installation.

The artistic chemistry was just right between them and the seed of a future collaboration started to germinate in their heads… Boglárka & Yukihiro have now the opportunity to join their creative forces during a residency granted by Danscentrum Jette in Brussels (16.05.2011 - 06.06.2011). During these three weeks, they will combine the stop motion animation technique of Yukihiro and the strict system of isolating the movement through counting of Boglárka in order to attempt to create video samples, develop their research into choreography and find different ways to understand and perceive movements.

As both Boglárka & Yukihiro stated: "we hope that this working period will be the beginning of a longer process".

LUCKY TRIMMER wishes them a very successful working period and is looking forward to hearing more about their LUCKY collaboration!
