Congratulations to our 2018 Changemaker winner!

This year the LUCKY CHANGEMAKER bursary was granted to Seun Awobajo with his project - the Seaside Cottage Theatre in Bariga, Lagos (Nigeria) - out of over 200 applications!

The Seaside Cottage Theatre is a community based live theatre project by FOOTPRINTS OF DAVID ARTS for the Bariga community and its surroundings. This platform was commissioned on the 28th of April 2018 in order to propagate what theatre can do for the community and not what the community can do for theatre.  The Seaside Cottage Theatre is the first and the only dedicated theatre space in the Bariga community and its environment to support professionals and encourage the outburst of amateurs in the area. The Seaside Cottage Theatre has created a quarterly platform so that theatre troupes can showcase their work to a mixed audience (children and adult alike). This platform we serve as a means of employment for the many creative talents in the Bariga community and encourage a community cooperation in the culture of live theatre.
