Biography

Giannalberto de Filippis (Ita) practised Chinese martial arts for 14 years. this was his first body/movement education and it represents an important root for his vision and his work about dance. 

 

In 1998 he collaborated as a dancer with the company Lyria in Brescia and in 1999 he graduated from the London Contemporary Dance School. Giannalberto studied different techniques, such as release, Limon, Contact and Improvisation with many teachers, among them, Paul Douglas, Sasha Rubicek, Sue McLannan, Adam Benjamin, Fin Walker, Gill Clarke, Siobhan Davies, Jeremy Nelson.

 

He also collaborated with the Swiss company Molteni directed by Philipp Egli and in Germany with Iztok Kovac (En-Knap), Martina Labontè, Mikel Aristegui and in 2003 with Sasha Waltz.

 

In 2004 Giannalberto de Filippis  and Michal Mualem began collaborating together. Combining their different experiences and movement languages they first started teaching together, holding workshops in Europe and Israel. Since 2005 they have choreographed together.
