Don Cañalero (MX)

Don Cañalero fuses Mexican traditional dance and music in an unique performative format that showcases Mexican folk not as an antique cultural tradition but as a contemporary art capable of innovation.It is the only company in México which aims to demonstrate, with an extraordinary passion, the virtuosity and power of the Mexican folklore. The group consists of Miguel Pérez García (musician, dancer, poet), Edson Garza (percussionist, dancer) and Heber Cruz (composer).

Don Cañalero has performed its musical program LO QUE PINTO in the frame of several cultural events and has showcased its performative pieces Contigo o sin tí and Jueces A at important national and international festivals. Don Cañalero also offers workshops during which students are encourage to recognize and follow their internal pulse in order to gain a better understanding of the rhythmical conscience of the whole body.
